NCCER launched the online Testing System in August of 2017. The NCCER Testing System includes enhanced, easy-to-use features and operates on the same platform utilized by the American College Testing (ACT, Inc.) organization. Additional system benefits include:

  • Platform managed in-house by NCCER
  • Single Sign-On with Registry System (only one login/password for both)
  • Multiple test forms (prevents the same test questions from being presented)
  • Automatic scoring
  • Electronic record storage
  • Proctor Station for ease in test administration
  • Computer based tests help prevent duplicate accounts among other common errors
  • Automatic submission to NCCER’s Registry System
  • Web-based platform does not require any special software or hardware
  • Operates and conforms to all major browsers
  • Automatically conforms to multiple devices – (i.e. laptops, tablets, Google Chromebooks, and Macbooks)

Previous processes required craft instructors to generate, administer, hand score NCCER module tests, and then complete submittal documentation for credentials. The online system allows for all of this to be done electronically while also eliminating the need for physical storage resources of paper-based tests. Instructors can also input completed Performance Profiles directly into the system. All results are automatically reported to the NCCER Registry System.
